Cultural Visits & Activities

Cross-curricular cultural visits and field trips, involvement in the local community, competitions with other schools, be it debating, public speaking, general knowledge, leadership, maths, music, poetry, give each child masses of opportunity to develop his or her interests.

Each term, pupils choose an activity in which they take part every Tuesday afternoon. Examples include badminton, baseball, bird watching, chess, community service, croquet, current affairs, dance, electronics, film making, fishing, gardening, girls' football, golf, jewellery making, judo, life saving, model making, natural history, pet club, photography, play rehearsals, pottery, riding, soft-toy making, squash, stage make-up, table tennis, target shooting, tapestry, water polo, website design, woodland games and yoga, as well as mainstream sports, music, drama, art and craft. Friday Clubs are similar to those on Tuesday, but for children in ensembles and choirs, music takes priority.
