Year 3 Cricket & Rounders

Year 3 boys and girls have enthusiastically started playing cricket and rounders this term and are enjoying playing in matches against other schools.

The boys have been introduced to bowling, but by far the favourite is 'batting' and hitting the ball to the boundary! 'Long barriers' and overarm throwing accurately to stumps is a work in progress but the excitement of the children coming to games lessons is lovely to watch. Well done, boys, for your successful start against St Francis and Portsmouth Grammar.

Meanwhile, the girls are also learning batting, bowling, catching and fielding. Again, batting is the favourite and several rounders are now being scored in every team. Catching is improving rapidly and the decision-making in the field becoming much clearer. We have had some good results against the visiting schools.

Keep up the good work all of Year 3; it has been a great start to the summer term.
