The children are getting back into the swing of school life, and as well as academic work in the classrooms all the pupils in the prep school have a programme of activities that enrich their learning and give them a chance to try something new. Amongst other things, the Year 3s get to enjoy hands-on learning and skill development in Forest School; take time to focus their minds and bodies in Yoga; learn magic skills with Mr Tween; and get inspired with ‘kitchen sink science’. We hear that one boy “jumped out of his skin with delight” when a science experiment created a fantastic colour change!
From judo to golf, circus skills to chess, there is something for everyone in Years 4-6. Likewise, senior pupils are taught important communication and life skills; they help out at the Andover foodbank and spend time entertaining children from Icknield School, who come to visit every week. Activities take place on Tuesday afternoons for Years 4-8 and on Wednesday afternoons for Year 3.
