Farleigh en France

Farleigh's Year 6 arrived safely in sunny Brittany on Tuesday and it has been non-stop and action packed ever since!

After a smooth journey across 'La Manche', followed by a scenic coach journey through rural Brittany, we were greeted by the spectacular golden sands of Les Sables D'Or and the shimmering evening sunset.

For breakfast, we were treated with a full French cuisine including 'des croissants, des pains au chocolat et aussi un chocolat chaud'!

Shortly after breakfast, Rendez-Vous Français commenced and we were able to put into practice the French skills that we have been learning back at school, including going to the hotel post office and tourist information.

Next, we set off towards Dinard, stopping at a local pâtisserie to pick up a delicious picnic. We enjoyed this at the Dinard mini golf, next to the emerald green coastline and a lovely, sunny walk to the beach, where we enjoyed some fantastic views and built some impressive sandcastles. What a day!

On Thursday, we had another action-packed day, including a traditional market and a boat trip to St. Malo. During the morning's Rendez-Vous Français, the children were able to become more familiar with the local area and to practise their language in preparation for a spot of shopping in Dinard Market. They were given the task to order their own picnics in the market and consumed it with great satisfaction!

After a beautiful boat ride over to St. Malo and an afternoon of shopping in the historic town, Year 6 returned to their own picturesque beach where they enjoyed relaxing together in the sensational sunshine and building spectacular sandcastles.

We send our love to everyone at home and at school. It's a hard life here right now for us! Don't forget to keep up with Farleigh on Twitter.
