Spring Term Sporting Success

It has been a term of firsts and a term of records.

As well as the U13A netball team winning silver medals at the IAPS National Finals last week - unprecedented at Farleigh - they also won the Bryanston Netball Tournament, the first time Farleigh has won the trophy here since 2009.

Both U12 rugby teams have enjoyed an unbeaten season (and that includes boys who have never played rugby before!) and the U12A team remains unbeaten in 45 matches (over four years). This is an outstanding achievement since they started playing together in Year 4.

The U12A netball team have had a fantastic season too and, like the U13A girls, won the Regional Tournament at Port Regis to qualify for the National Finals. At the Nationals, they won four out of six matches and narrowly missed qualification for the semi-finals.

In Hockey, the 10 B, C and D teams all remain unbeaten this season and the As have had a good season too, one highlight being 3rd place at the Portsmouth Grammar School Hockey Tournament. The Colts A (U11) rugby team won the Plate Competition at the Portsmouth Grammar School Sevens Tournament, coming 5th out of 16 teams.

Further sports news is covered in the termly newsletter which will be distributed by post to parents next week and on the website from today.
