Summer Fun for Kids on Track

Now in its third year, the charity Kids on Track Andover held two activity camps at Farleigh during the summer holidays. The first was for 12 Kids on Track children to improve their water confidence; and in several cases, an opportunity to learn to swim by providing daily swimming lessons in the Farleigh pool for a week.

Last week, the charity hosted an incredibly successful three day activity camp for 40+ children. In a now familiar format, current and previous Farleigh families ensured there was plenty of activity and attention for all. Activities included creating individual graffiti t-shirts and boards, a drum and bass workshop, bushcraft, singing workshops to develop the Kids on Track song (watch this space!), and making and cooking a delicious BBQ lunch. With the benefit of good weather, there was also plenty of sport on offer; the ever popular football, of course, but also hockey, tennis, dodgeball and basketball.

Finally, an emotional graduation ceremony was held for those children now entering Year 8 who will migrate from the camps to the Kids on Track after school clubs.
