The Outdoor Classroom

The Outdoor Classroom, which has evolved and developed significantly over the past year, was a hive of activity at biscuit break on Tuesday, as the lovely space played host to a Roald Dahl-themed session run by our Librarian, Mrs Rawlings. Celebrating 100 years of Roald Dahl, the children enjoyed dressing up, playing 'pin the newt on Miss Trunchbull' and designing chocolate bars for Willy Wonka. The ICT labs were available for the children to play Twit or Miss, in what appears to be a hilarious (and addictive) game, whereby you have to catch the disgusting detritus falling out of Mr Twit's beard!

Work on the Outdoor Classroom - complete with blackboard, water fountain and comfortable cushions - was finished over the summer holidays. In a clearing in the Farleigh woods and close to Fortress Farleigh, it provides the perfect semi-outdoor space in which to inspire the children in the fresh air.
