Three's A Crowd

Last Friday, Three’s A Crowd, the sequel to last year’s evening of duets, Two’s Company, saw the Recital Hall jam packed to the rafters with supporters for the 56 children performing for the evening.

The build-up started way back at the beginning of term, children forming new musical combinations, selecting their material, and filling practice rooms at any opportunity to rehearse as diverse a choice of repertoire as has ever been performed on one night only.

From classical Clementi arranged for four hands on two pianos, to exerpts from West End Musicals sung in harmony, to jazz trios and small chamber groups, the evidence of their enjoyment was on the faces of the children who had spent so much time practising together to deliver such incredible variety and exceptional quality on the night.

Thank you to all the music teachers who helped prepare the children for the evening, and an especial huge thank you to all the performers!
