Tremendous Triathlon Triumph

Over 200 Farleigh pupils, competing in 53 teams of four, entered the Flight Centre Triathlon held at Marlborough College on Sunday 20th May, raising money for Restless Development and Farleigh’s chosen charities (Mary’s Meals, HCPT and Kids on Track Andover).

The emphasis of the day was on fun and team spirit, which was evident in all the age categories. The children, as inventive as ever, thought up some ingenious team names, ranging from the Yummy Scrummy Gummy Bears, Faster than the Wind, Rocket Snails and of course the Fabulous Farleigh Four! We had some great results, most notably team Super Squad who were outstanding, coming 1st out of 120 teams in the Years 5 and 6 group. In the Years 3 and 4 group, team Plastic Pigs were the highest placed Farleigh team, coming 11th out of 98 teams; and in the Years 7 and 8 age group, Farleigh’s Just Tri and Do It came in 13th out of 49.

Farleigh’s current fundraising total stands at an incredible £19,394.83 and there are more donations coming in every day. The organisers report that Farleigh pupils who have done particularly well are Jasmine Low (£645) and Flinn Allen (£545). Well done to everyone! It is a great event and a fun way to raise money for charity.
