'Two's Company'

Playing together is what music is all about, so 'Two's Company', an Evening of Duets, was an excellent opportunity for children to come together in twos and start working on an exciting variety of music for the concert on Thursday 9th November. Everyone was so excited about playing together, and right from the start of term pairs of children could be seen heading towards the Music School to practice with each other, alone, or under their teacher's guidance.

All their hard work meant that the audience was treated to a truly entertaining evening of performances ranging from duets on the piano, saxophone, trumpet, violin, 'cello and voice, to soloists with instrumental accompaniment. It was lovely to see such a range of experience in the performers, from the small young pianists with their feet dangling from the stool, to the confidence and poise of the older children. The audience enjoyed a wonderful diversity of music including classics, jazz, as well movie themes and a very funny performance of All Change involving train whistles and leaves on the line! The evening ended in a moving rendition of All I ask of You from Phantom of the Opera, which left barely a dry eye in the house!
