Years 7 and 8 Internal Singles Tennis Tournament

On the second day of the summer term, over 50 boys and girls took part in an Internal Singles Tennis Tournament. The all-weather pitch made its tennis debut, providing three additional courts which, combined with the existing five, made this a big event!

Some good tennis was played - with all the children wanting to do their best - and there were some very competitive matches. A championship tiebreak (the first to ten points) was used for the scoring - the winner needing to be two points clear if the score was nine all. The quarter-finals stage was reached after two hours of hard play, and the final matches of the tournament will be played over the course of the term in a longer format - one set.

On the first Saturday of term, the U13 girls (eight pairs) played their first match against Highfield School at home. It was fantastic to be able to use eight courts and Farleigh emerged comfortable victors, winning  by 13 matches to three. What a  great start to sport in the summer term!
