A Theatrical Outing For Our Year 8 Potential Drama Scholars

Our Potential Drama Scholars are working hard this month to prepare for their senior school auditions. There is a lot to do but, fortunately, it is all enjoyable and interesting work for those who love the performing arts. Between improvisation classes, portfolio writing, mock interviews and rehearsals for their monologues, they were recently lucky enough to visit the Victoria Palace Theatre in London to watch Hamilton.

The trip provided an opportunity to analyse a live performance, ready to discuss in their upcoming interviews. They were fantastic company on the day, obligingly scribbling away in their notebooks at the theatre and talking through their observations on the train ride home.

Ultimately, drama scholarships always come down to who else is auditioning on the day, as many senior schools only give out one award each year. However, we have thoroughly enjoyed working with this talented and deserving cohort; regardless of the scholarship outcome, we know their theatrical education has been enriched through their preparations. We wish them all the luck in the world and look forward to following their dramatic pursuits at their chosen schools.
