An alternative Boarders' BBQ

Despite the soggy conditions, the boarders’ summer BBQ (indoors!) was nevertheless a great success. With a few modifications the weather didn’t matter at all. The children were appropriately ‘dressed for the beach’ as if heading off for a damp walk in early spring; and the delicious marinated spare ribs, burgers and sausages were cooked in the kitchen.

After supper, the Year 8s celebrated the end of their exams with games, toasted marshmallows and s’mores cooked on the campfire in the outdoor classroom in the woods. To the uninitiated, s’mores are a traditional campfire treat popular in the United States and Canada, consisting of a marshmallow and a layer of chocolate placed between two biscuits.
