Downhill all the way!

Our skiers returned from another successful ski trip to the beautiful mountains of Serre Chevalier in France.

We started the week with blue skies and excellent snow conditions towards the top of the mountain and the beginners soon got to grips with their skis and were happily sailing down green and blue runs.

Day three saw the return of the annual BBQ at the top of the mountain; the children had to complete the ‘Funny Cross’ in order to reach the lunch location. Afternoon activities included bowling, ski-scooting, toboganning, shopping, an avalanche talk and lots of crêpe eating! After supper the children enjoyed a games night, karaoke, a film night and some well deserved (and needed!) chill time.

The last two days proved a little tricky with a turn in the weather; snow began to fall which made visibility low and the final night saw around 30cm of snow fall. We awoke to a winter wonderland - blue skies and lots of snow! This made for a day of brilliant wipe outs with so much fresh powdery snow, but they all persevered and made it down safe and sound to round off a fantastic week of skiing.

See you again next year, Serre Chevalier!
