'Egg'cellent Effort

Ten enthusiastic family teams joined Mr Tween’s  DT Challenge Fundraising Day at half-term. As well as supporting the charity Let the Children Live in Colombia, it gave parents an opportunity to see what happens inside the DT classroom and get competitive with their crazy car creations.

Each team was given 15 ‘Egg Dollars’ with which to buy the materials to manufacture an egg-carrying car. The aim of the challenge was to design a car that would safely travel down the steepest gradient, whilst preserving its cargo. Prizes were awarded for the egg that survived the longest, the most decorative vehicle and the most inventive use of technology. The morning raised £500 for Let the Children Live and culminated in a delicious BBQ, kindly provided by the Catering Team.
