First Holy Communion

On Sunday, after months of preparation, 29 pupils received their First Holy Communion. Fr Simon spoke about the power and work of the Holy Spirit, as we were celebrating Pentecost that day. With several sparkling visual aids, the power of the Spirit was investigated, culminating in great excitement when a large sparkler took centre stage.

Its arrival lit up the faces of the children as they reflected on how the Spirit they received at Baptism was strengthened through the reception of Holy Communion, and would lead them in turn to ‘light up’ the world.
